Erin and Eric

Date2015

The overall concept was inspired by the location of Erin and Eric’s engagement, the corn maze at Butler’s Orchard outside of Washington D.C. The base of the piece includes three square panels fused on top of each other, each smaller than its base, creating a ‘maze’ like 3D element, winding around and framing the center. Leafy green stalks strike at a center point, symbolizing where you both stand together. The energy of glass splits and jolts up from where it’s planted at the core. Green shades stand striking and tall while golds and yellows hop from one base to another sprinkling colors of corn at the tops of the green stalks.
Calming blues drift across the top signaling a calming sky moving through, while bright bolts of gold radiate up from the center. The piece is filled with love and energy hoping to capture the couple’s love for each other that radiates, calms and excites.
